City Park Murder back - main page

...City Park Murder is the third book in the Luke Jacobs PI series. New Orleans private investigator Luke Jacobs is best described as a cross between James Bond and Sherlock Holmes. He's a streetwise, intelligent sleuth trapped in the body with the agility of a cat and has enjoyed a solid run of late: having solved several high profile police cases, including the case of lawyer Jake Matos, whose murder conviction was overturned after four years of painstaking efforts.

When a few bodies turn up in an area adjacent to his office and with the post-Katrina setting still a disputed mess . . . .well, things are getting personal. With all that is going on in the Crescent City, Luke has to perform an intricate balancing act between his personal life, the demands of the New Orleans Police Department and his burgeoning private practice. On board for the ride are his motley crew of assistants: forensic pathologist Melvin Jenkins; Matt Harris, a street-wise character of questionable integrity; Jan Martinez, college student beauty with an eye for things most folks ignore and Joe "Fingerprints" Sway, Luke's college buddy who's just moved to the area from New York and can't quite figure out the crazed maze of New Orleans socio-politico climate.

City Park Murder is the kind of novel that hooks you from the beginning. The characters are strong the plot development truly unique. This is Ken's trademark: plot snags. The only question remaining is what's next for PI Luke Jacobs?
