Luke Jacobs, PI has teamed up with forensic pathologist, Melvin Jenkins, M.D. to uncover the reasons two policemen assaulted lawyer Jake Matos. One policeman is now dead, and Matos is sitting in a jail cell, convicted of murder. Having no idea that their energies would lead them to a head-on collision with one of America's most ruthless corporate consortiums, Jacobs and Jenkins learn a little too late that Matos wanted to take on a dangerous entity. The setting is Mardi Gras, 2005, which usually fully engages all of New Orleans' attention. But when the truth about Jake's dilemma is made public, Mardi Gras may have to take a backseat.
